By Request… Our Annual Remembrance Day Feature

Written by Canadian physician Lietenant-Colonel John McCrae during the First World War, “In Flanders Fields” […]

Written by Canadian physician Lietenant-Colonel John McCrae during the First World War, “In Flanders Fields” has become an integral piece of Canadian culture, and how we honour our fallen soldiers. But what is the poem really about, and how can we honour those who lost their lives fighting for our freedom not just on Remembrance Day, but all year long?

Here is a feature that we play on our stations every year, and each time we play it we receive countless requests from listeners, asking for copies to share with their family and friends. We hope that you’ll take a moment to listen and to reflect on what Remembrance Day is all about.

On behalf of Kool FM, a sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of those who have fought, and continue to fight to protect our country. We are indebted to you not just today, but every day of the year.

A special thanks to Frank Napoli who wrote and read the story.
