canine unit used to track impaired driver

Police say both drivers blew over, twice the legal limit!

Barrie Police had their hands full with impaired drivers early this morning. One driver was discovered after someone made a noise complaint in the north end of the city. 
When police responded they found a vehicle parked with the stereo cranked up and a male passed out in the drivers seat, with an open beer can in his hands. Officers woke him up and he provided a breath sample. The 20 year old Barrie man has man has since been charged with impaired.
A call just after 1 had police bringing out the canine unit, after a car ended up in the ditch on Essa Rd. A witness advised police officers that after the car hit the dirt, the driver took off on foot and headed into a wooded area.  The dogs picked up the scent and a 26 year old Collingwood man was found nearby. Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash and the man has been been charged.
