Cash Crunch Closes Local Goodwill Stores

Barrie, Orillia, Newmarket stores closed

A cash flow crisis has forced Goodwill to close its locations in Barrie, Orillia, Newmarket, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Newmarket and Brockville  – 430 employees are affected. A statement from Goodwill says it is exploring options to continue its decades-long mission reaching out to the union, its stakeholders and governments. For more than 80 years, Goodwill Industries of Toronto, Eastern, Central and Northern Ontario has had a mission to enable work opportunities and provide skills development for people facing barriers to employment, including persons with disabilities, youth and the chronically unemployed.
