Customer Allegedly Pockets Device Left Behind

WEDNESDAY – A 23 yr old Barrie man has been arrested in the theft October 30 of a cell-phone left behind by customer at the Caplan Avenue liquor store. It had been mistakenly left on the counter. Unfortunately, say Barrie Police, while the phone has been recovered pictures and personal information that were on it  have been erased.

MONDAY – Police are investigating a theft from a liquor store, but this one didn’t involve booze. Barrie Police say a man in his 20s or 30s walked up to the counter at the Caplain Ave. LCBO on Friday to pay for his hooch, when he noticed a cell phone was left on the counter. He allegedly scooped up the cell and made no attempt to find its owner. He’s described as:

  • white male
  • 20-23 years of age
  • dark hair, long at the front
  • medium build
  • wearing dark Under Armour hoodie
