Cookstown Company Fined Following Workplace Injury

$65,000 Fine Against Company After Worker Crushed By Concrete

A concrete manufacturer out of Cookstown has been hit with a hefty fine after a worker was hurt on the job. The Ministry of Labour was called in to investigate after a worker was crushed by a falling concrete slab on April 21st, 2014, saying the company used faulty pillars to support the slab. RES Precast Inc. pleaded guilty in Barrie court, and fined $65,000.
