Cops Claim Car Reported Stolen After Crash

A car reported stolen wasn’t really. Barrie OPP say they got the report of a car on the 400 near Mount St. Louis Road yesterday, that was involved in a crash sometime overnight. It was heavily damaged and no one was around it. When police contacted the owner, the guy allegedly then reported his vehicle stolen. It didn’t take long for police to figure out he was trying to pull a fast one, and now a 21-year-old Oro Medonte man is facing a Careless Driving and Fail To Report a Collision charge.
