Counterfeit Currency Strikes Again

List Of Funny Money Suspects Grows By Two

Another funny money transaction in Barrie. This time around, two perps allegedly used counterfeit American 20 dollar bills at a local Tim Horton’s, last Monday morning. Barrie Police say a sedan drove up to the coffee shop, and while the passenger jumped out and went into the store, the vehicle went through the drive thru. Officers say both men spent their phony bills in order to get real currency back as change. What makes this crime unusual, compared to the spate of counterfeit currency uses recently, is $20 were used, instead of a $50 bill commonly passed. Police describe the suspects as:

  • Wearing a black/grey striped “Raiders” toque with a pom-pom, grey puffy winter jacket with a grey collar, red track pants and black shoes.
