Collingwood Traffic Enforcement Officers Keeping Busy

Breathalyser Getting A Workout Too

Police in Collingwood are getting their money’s worth out of the breathalyser. Officers on patrol pulled a vehicle over around 2:00 yesterday morning in the Napier and Ontario Streets area of Collingwood. A 30-year-old woman allegedly failed her roadside breath test and was taken back to the stationhouse. The Wasaga Beach resident was charged with a DUI and given a mid-month court date. Later the same morning, the OPP got a tip of a possible impaired driver in town. Police tracked down the suspect vehicle on Highway 26 near Huronia Pathway, where a 25-year-old Essa man was not only charged with Drunk Driving, but also Pot Possession. Meanwhile, a Clearview Township man is facing a Marijuana Possession charge, following a Collingwood OPP RIDE stop. Officers claim they could smell pot in the 45-year-old man’s vehicle when he approached the spot check around 9:30 Friday evening.
