DUI Charge Laid After Crash Involving Hydro Pole, Fire Hydrant

Woman Said To Be Over Twice The Legal Limit

A Barrie woman is facing a DUI after they say she brought down a hydro pole. Emergency crews rushed to the scene of the crash just after midnight this morning, at Essa and Gowan. Police say the driver left the roadway, struck a hydro pole, and came to rest on a fire hydrant. The 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital as a precaution, but while there, police say her breath sample was twice the legal limit. She is due in Barrie court next month.
