The Great Canadian Gift Box was founded by Jenny DiPietro, Natasha Hull and Lisa Michel in 2018. They had an idea of how to get our kids involved in learning about homelessness and spark ideas about homelessness in our community. Together with business, schools, local sports teams and organizations they were able to collect 600+ shoe boxes to donate to shelters across Simcoe County.

Tottenham – 55 Queen St. S.

What to Pack

Water, toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, toque, mitts or gloves, plastic baggies, hand warmers, foot warmers, water bottles, deck of cards, chap stick, baby wipes, deodorant, soap, hand cream, condoms, feminine hygiene, hair elastics and clips, first aide kit, extra bandages, tissues, solar blanket, plastic raincoat, sewing kit, can opener, flashlight and batteries, garbage bags, duct tape, lock and key, shaving cream, granola bars, fruit cups, other healthy non-perishable snacks, etc…

*We ask that no razors, utility knives, mouthwash or hand sanitizer be packed in the bags. These items will be taken out of the bags and donated to local shelters that will distribute as needed.
