Firefighters Make Quick Work Of House Fire In North Barrie

Investigation of a fire this morning at a home on Hickling Trail in north Barrie has been turned over to Barrie Police and the Fire Marshal. Flames were detected around 6:40am. Six students who lived in the house were able to escape safely; one firefighter suffered a foot injury. Cause of the fire and a damage estimate have yet to be determined. Firefighters say they could hear smoke alarms on their arrival.
