Former McGuinty Staffers Charged In Connection To Gas Plant Scandal
Pair Charged After Thousands Of Emails Related To Cancelled Gas Plant Were Deleted
Provincial Police have charged two former Premier Dalton McGuinty staffers in connection to the so-called Gas Plant Email scandal. Police say charges have been laid against McGuinty’s ex Chief of Staff, 63-year-old David Livingston, and 36-year-old Laura Miller, a former deputy chief who went on to work in Vancouver politics. The pair each face one count of Breach of Trust, Mischief, and Misuse of Computers, stemming from the deletion of thousands of government emails related to the Ontario Liberal Party’s decision to cancel two gas plants at a cost later determined to be over a billion dollars.
