France has become the first country to ban disposable plastic cups and plates. By 2020, all disposable tableware will have to be made from 50 per cent of materials that can be composted, rising to 60 per cent by 2025. It’s estimated the French throw out 150 single-use cups every second – 4.73 billion a year. Only one per cent of them can be recycled. Click here for more on this story.
