And speaking of The Hip….

The Canadian Cancer Society and the Sunnybrook Foundation say the Tragically Hip’s recent tour has raised more than $1 million for brain cancer research in Canada.  The Sunnybrook Foundation says donations totalling nearly $800,000 have been made to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.  Sunnybrook and the Cancer Society say the donations have come from bake sales, raffles, concert viewing parties and ticket sales, as thousands of fans have translated their emotional response to Downie’s diagnosis into action.

Justin Bieber has reportedly ended his weeks-long fling with teenage model Sofia Richie.

The Boyfriend hitmaker became linked to Lionel Richie’s daughter in early August, and they enjoyed a jet-setting romance, with Sofia joining her man for a pair of concerts in Japan, before Justin treated her to a romantic Mexican getaway in honour of her 18th birthday.  Justin and Sofia have yet to comment on the split report, which comes just days after the teen gushed about her “special relationship” with the singer.
