Hilary Duff wants ‘Lizzie McGuire’ reboot to move from Disney+ so it does not have to “live under the ceiling of a PG rating”
Duff wants the show to move to Hulu
Hilary Duff has shared that she hopes to get the forthcoming Lizzie McGuire reboot moved from Disney+ to Hulu.
The sequel, which is based off of the beloved show of the same name that ran for three years in the early 2000s, is currently set to arrive with a PG rating on the streaming service. Duff took to Instagram in a now-removed post, asking Disney to move the film to Hulu so that they don’t have to “limit the realities” of the 30-year-old McGuire.
“Was incredibly excited to launch ‘Lizzie’ on D+ and my passion remains,” Duff writes. “However, I feel a huge responsibility to honour the fans’ relationship with LIZZIE who, like me, grew up seeing themselves in her. I’d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30 year old’s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating.”
