British Actor Alan Rickman, has died in London aged 69. His death was confirmed on Thursday by his family. Rickman had been suffering from cancer… Some of his roles include: Professor Snape in the Harry Potter Films, But the actor had been a big-screen staple since first shooting to global acclaim in 1988, when he starred as Hans Gruber the bad guy for Bruce Willis’s in Die Hard… He also played the sheriff of Nottingham in 1991’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, along side Kevin Costern…

 

Kim Mitchell is recovering in hospital after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday. A Facebook message posted by Alert Music, his management company, says Mitchell underwent emergency surgery. He will remain at the hospital for another day or two before returning home… Kim was the lead singer and guitarist for Max Webster in the 70’s before going solo and bringing us just hits like “Go For Soda,” “Patio Lanterns” and “I Am A Wild Party.”

 

 Nickelback are suing bosses at insurance giants Lloyd’s of London over non-payment for a cancelled tour. The band claims the executives are making up stories so they don’t have to pay millions after singer Chad Kroeger’s medical condition forced the band to scrap dates on its 2015 No Fixed Address Tour. Chad had to pull out of dates after developing a cyst on his vocal cords, and he underwent surgery to remove it. That put him out of action for well over six months, forcing his bandmates to cancel shows. They filed a $13 million (8.6 million) claim with Lloyd’s of London to cover their losses…

 

 

Ahead of the Oscars Nominations this morning–The Razzie award nobs were announced yesterday… The Razzie, honouring the worst in film of the year….and this year’s worst achievements in film include “Fifty Shades of Grey” and Adam Sandler’s video game adventure “Pixels”… Stallone, who won his first Golden Globe last week for reprising his iconic role as Rocky Balboa in “Creed,” is nominated for the Razzie Redeemer Award, going from an “all-time Razzie champ to 2015 award contender.” Winners of the Razzies are voted for online by around 900 members of the Razzies committee, and anyone can sign up to vote, with memberships starting at $40. The “tacky” Razzies ceremony are traditionally held in Hollywood on the night before the Feb. 28 Oscars ceremony, and those honored seldom show up.

 

The Friends cast have been confirmed to reunite for a two-hour special. Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross will meet up once again for a tribute to director James Burrows on US network NBC. The news was announced at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena on Wednesday, with the program scheduled to air on Sunday 21 February. BUT one of the executives admits this may be hard to do because of their busy schedules….
