School’s out for the summer! Why not earn some extra cash, gain work experience and have fun with one of the awesome jobs up for grabs at Park Place Barrie!

They’re having a job fair on Wednesday, July 13th from 3-8pm… So what do you need to do to be prepared to get the summer job you REALLY want? Here are a few tips:

Dress for Success

Most summer jobs don’t require you to wear a suit and tie. But that doesn’t mean you can’t wear one to your interview! Dressing professionally shows potential employers that you are respectful, polite and will be polished and presentable when greeting customers.

Polish Your Resume

Even if you’ve never had a “real” job before, a resume showing your involvement with different clubs or activities is a great way to showcase yourself as a person and your ability to make a commitment and follow through. The #1 thing to remember to include, of course, is your contact information should they wish to set up an additional interview (or offer you a job!)

Prepare, Prepare, Prepare!

“Tell me about yourself,” is one of the go-to job interview questions that you can expect (and prepare for!). While you don’t want to sound like you’re reciting a script, going over job interview questions and figuring out how to answer them is the best way to prepare for an interview. Remember, you don’t have to tell them your life story, but the better you can express how your skills will help meet their needs, the better your chance of scoring a job you’ll love!
