The town of Innisfil is moving ahead with the partial sale of the community’s power utility. At a special council meeting last night, they voted in favour of the partial sale of town-owned InnPower to Edmonton-based EPCOR. Innisfil Town Clerk Lee Parkin confirms Innisfil is selling 50% of its shares in InnPower in exchange for a deal worth just under $23 milllion. Ratepayers are being told not to expect any changes on their electric bill, and the town gains an experienced partner reportedly interested in making further economic investments in the area. While council has voted in principle to the sale, everyone still has to sign on the dotted line over the next several weeks.
