In 2014, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. At the time, he was also in remission from colorectal cancer. Mann continued to perform, using an iPad with lyrics to help him.
Mann is survived by his wife, playwright Jill Daum, and grown children Harlan and Hattie.
Rest in peace, John Mann. You will be missed.
