The studio has added Aladdin to their ever-growing list of cartoon classics that will soon be but don’t worry naysayers! This adaptation will actually be a prequel.

Disney is developing Genies, an adventure comedy set before the events of the 1992 classic (which won two Oscars and was nominated for three others). So it’s story about a magical genie (sadly not voiced by Robin Williams) that ends with the beloved hero being enslaved for 10,000 years? Could the movie get any more depressing?
