Many Residents Still In The Dark

Crews Working To Get Power Back On

More than 100-thousand people have been without power since last night across most of South Western Ontario.  Hydro One is reporting that tree branches have been falling on lines due to ice build up.
Many of the tree limbs and branches were across roadways, causing a driving hazard as well. More than 12-thousand residents in the Barrie area and 11-thousand in Owen Sound and Orangeville have been without power. It has been flickering on and off at times. Traffic lights are affected by the outage. So if you come upon a dark intersection treat it as you would a 4 way stop.
Power Stream is working to get the lights back on and is aiming for the 8 o’clock hour.
