Jamie Foxx was relaxing at home in Hidden Hills, California on Friday night when he heard a loud crash and ran outside. He found a truck flipped on its side and nearly engulfed in flames, with the driver stuck inside. With another man’s help, Foxx managed to cut the seatbelt and free the man.
“As we pulled him out, within five seconds … the truck goes up [in flames],” Foxx told reporters on Tuesday afternoon. “I don’t look at it as heroic. I just look at it as, you know, you just had to do something. And it all worked out.”
Foxx said Kyle’s father, Brad, came to his home the next day to thank him.
“I think we all hope that we can do something when the time is there. But the question is do we act or do we fear our own lives, and he did not,” said Brad Kyle. “[Foxx] was here when he needed to be here. He was here for my son. And as far as I am concerned, he saved his life.”
After the man was sent to hospital with serious injuries, authorities reported that he was allegedly driving under the influence. Not only did he come close to death, but by drinking and driving he put the lives of other drivers as well a those who rescued him in danger. We are glad that everyone is safe, and hope that this is a lesson to all… DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
