4 Alliance Blvd, Unit 2 Barrie
October 15 to October 19
RMA Karate in Barrie will be hosting military week at their karate school from October 15th to October 19th where members of the Canadian Armed Forces will have the opportunity to take karate & kickboxing classes for free.
The weeklong event aims to show members of the military they are appreciated. Military week at RMA is absolutely free with no obligation to continue with a membership. Tressa Young, one of the organizers of the themed week wants to let the military members and their families know how much they are appreciated. The inspiration for the themed week came when two RMA instructors went to a CFL Argo game where military went on the field unfurling the Canadian flag. Impressed by the presence of the armed forces, the instructors mentioned the event to Young who decided to show appreciation herself through her karate school.
The week will end with an appreciation draw where winners will receive restaurant gift cards as prizes. A group picture at the end of the week (Thursday) will be taken for participants to keep and take with them.
Classes are conducted in bare feet and armed forces personnel are welcome to attend classes in casual military dress (kakis or track pants & armed forces t-shirt). Class times are available by contacting RMA Karate at 705-796-1994 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
