A new petition has been launched, calling upon Adidas to end their ‘Yeezy’ collaboration with Kanye West following his controversial comments about slavery.
Earlier this week, the rapper made headlines in an interview where he argued that the historic slavery of black people in America was “a choice”. He later clarified his comments but continued to receive criticism.
The comment that got everyone going:
“When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years?! That sounds like a choice,” he argued. “We’re mentally imprisoned.”
Currently, the petition has almost 5000 signatures and is looking for 10,000!
