Newest Canadian ISS Member Named

David Saint-Jacques Blasting Off In 2018

Canada will have a new member of the 400km high club. David Saint-Jacques has been selected as the next Canadian astronaut to visit the International Space Station. The Quebec City native will spend six months floating overhead, after the 2018 launch date is confirmed. Today’s announcement pushes up the next Canadian astronaut mission by a year, after the conservative government said we wouldn’t send another canuck into orbit til 2019, while the last Canadian in space was Chris Hadfield, who ended his tenure in 2013.
