A half-billion accounts hacked

If you’re with Yahoo you’ll want to be changing your passwords. The company announced this week that hackers have swiped personal information associated with a half-billion accounts – names, email addresses, birth dates, even encrypted passwords. This happened in 2014 but was only recently discovered. If you have not changed your password in the last couple of years, best that you do.  Yahoo has taken steps to protect its users, including invalidating security questions and answers, but the real risk lies in hackers using the passwords on other websites.
