No Injuries or Damage After Fire At Innisfil Mayor’s Home

A stressful night for Innisfil’s mayor, and the town hall meeting had nothing to do with it! During last evening’s meeting of council, Innisfil’s Deputy Mayor Lynn Dollin caught wind through social media of a small fire in the area of the Mayor’s home. Mayor Gord Wauchope excused himself and went to check on things. They’re saying his wife loaded up the dishwasher and didn’t give it a second thought until smoke started coming from the appliance. Firefighters were called in and made short work of the fire. No one was hurt, and no damage was done to Mayor Wauchope’s Heritage Home. While the cause has yet to be determined, Mayor Wauchope has stated he will likely not be getting another dishwasher in the future.
