Orillia Clearing Trees To Make Way For Roadway Expansion

A Hectare's Worth Of Trees Expected To Be Removed From Old Barrie Rd Area

The City of Orillia is doing a little tree trimming. They’re getting ready for the upcoming restructuring of Old Barrie Road, and are clearing about a hectare of trees from the Old Barrie Road and 11/12 Sideroad area. The trees are owned by the Ministry of Transportation, not part of Scout Valley, and eco-crews have already verified none of the trees are species of interest. They’ll be hewing trees this week, while the Old Barrie road resurfacing is expected to begin by the end of summer.
