Orillia Focusing On Tourism In Six Month Effort

City Working With Locals To Develop Action Plan

Orillia is making tourism a priority with help from some local leaders. The city says they’ll be working with local tourism stakeholders over the next while now they’ve launched a six-month intensive effort to create a vibrant, goal-oriented Tourism Strategic Action Plan. They’re hoping the end result will be a three year plan to increase tourism in Orillia and the surrounding area. “Fostering economic development is one of Council’s top priorities and tapping into Orillia’s position as a unique tourism destination is key to our economic growth,” said Mayor Steve Clarke. “Council looks forward to the Tourism Strategic Action Plan providing us with a roadmap of where we want to be in the tourism market and how we can get there.”
