Orillia Man Arrested In Connection To Trying To Cash Church’s Cheques

Orillia Bank Called Cops, Believing Cheques to be Stolen

The Orillia OPP are accusing a local man of passing off cheques meant for a local church. Provincial Police took the call Thursday, from an Orillia bank claiming someone was trying to cash stolen cheques. Police showed up and say a closer look at the cheques in question revealed they were meant for an Orillia church, and not for the 39-year-old man trying to cash them. An Orillia man now faces four counts of Fraud and Uttering Forged Documents, and seven for Possession of Stolen Property.
