Orillia Property Sale Expected To Re-Energize Area

Former Proposed Rec Centre Site Scooped Up In Land Deal

Some much talked about land may have a new purpose, thanks to a recent transaction. The City of Orilia announced today the 22-acre site at 174 West St. has been bought by a company called Accutrac Capital, and it’s expected this sale will re-energize the city’s West St. corridor, enticing knowledge-based businesses to remain in Orillia. The land was bought by FLSmidth, who will remain as a tenant in the existing office building after the sale. Until last May, the site at 174 West St. was to be developed into a multi-use recreation facility until talks with the developer fell through. There are no immediate plans for additional developments on the site.
