Orillia To Host 2018 Winter Games

City Hopes To Generate Over $6-Million In Revenue

Big News for Orillia. The city has been awarded the 2018 Ontario Winter Games. Mayor Steve Clarke says the city wont have to build any facilities to accommodate the 3000 athletes but they will be making use of the one million dollar Hosting Grant Fund through the province. Athletes will compete in 25 sports over the 4 day event. It is estimated the games will help the city generate nearly 6 million dollars in revenue.
