Orillia Welcomes the Ontario Winter Games This Week

Over 3,500 young athletes will be competing

Orillia is once again home base for the 2020 Ontario Winter Games.

  • Events will take place from Feb. 26th to March 1st
  • Opening Ceremony is happening Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Centennial Park in Orillia
  • 3,500 participants
  • Ages of 12 and 18 from across Ontario
  • Competing in 27 different sports
  • More than 9,000 friends, family, coaches and trainers are expected to be in our area

The Orillia 2020 Ontario Winter Games officially gets underway with a free kick-off event at Centennial Park on Thursday, February 27. The City is excited to showcase our local community and culture with groups like the Mnjikaning Kendaaswin Elementary School Choir, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34 Orillia Pipes and Drums and R&B Pop band, the Free Label, which includes Orillia’s own Cole Mendez.

Host event locations will be Orillia, Barrie, Oro Medonte, Bracebridge and Rama
