600 Soliders, $450mil Dedicated To UN Effort

The feds say they’re stepping up Canada’s peacekeeping role. Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan and Foreign Affairs Minister Stephane Dion unveiled plans this morning to commit up to 600 Canadian Soldiers for future United Nations peacekeeping missions. The pair outlined how Canada will offer up money and equipment to a full spectrum of peace operations, setting aside over $450 million to promote peace and security around the world.
