Pair Charged Over Stolen Groceries From Barrie Store

Loss Prevention Officers Caught One, Police Caught The Other

Two Midland residents are on the hook for theft charges after a bust at the north end Barrie Wal-Mart. The store’s loss prevention officers say they spied two people filling a cart with groceries just before 7:00 last night, before hoofing it from the store without paying. Loss prevention say they gave chase, catching up to a 38-year-old female suspect easily, while the 31-year-old male suspect kept running. Barrie Police showed up just in time to stop the guy, now both are facing future court dates. Police say the pair almost made off with $590 worth of groceries.
