Patricia Peters Out Over Mexico

Hit with torrential rain

9am – Forecasters have reduced Patricia to tropical Storm status

6am – Hurricane Patricia slammed into the west coast of Mexico last night packing a 265 kilometre an hour wind, but without the warm waters of the Pacific to fuel it, the storm quickly began to diminish. It took land with Category 5 status, has since been diminished to Category 1 and is expected to weaken further as the day progresses. Damage is still being assessed. There is concern now about flooding.
