A warning from York Regional Police following an armed pharmacy robbery. Police say a man went into a Georgina pharmacy around 2:30 Sunday afternoon, armed with a knife, demanding fentanyl patches. Officers say the man left the Dalton Rd store with a backpack filled with the painkilling patches, prompting police to warn folks of the dangers of misusing this drug. They figure their suspect is going to turn around and start selling fentanyl in the area now, a drug police say is about 100 times stronger than morphine, posing a very real overdose risk. The suspect is described as:
- Male, white
- Approximately 30 years old
- 5’7”, thin build
- black winter jacket with fur around the hood
- Blue aviator-style sunglasses
- Grey gloves
