PJ’s Pets Closing Most Of Its Stores In Canada

Barrie store on list of closures

PJ’s Pets has announced it’s closing 27 of its 39 stores across Canada, including the location on Bayfield Street in Barrie. A statement from Price-Waterhouse says the stores have accumulated losses of more than $16M dollars since 2013. The loss of business blamed in part on a decision to stop selling puppies in 2011. “We are saddened to say that we are closing our doors after almost 50 years of serving the pet community across Canada,” said Brad Hamilton, Vice President of PJ’s Pets. “Our business was able to thrive for so many years as a result of our loyal associates and amazing customers. We encourage our customers to take advantage of the extraordinary savings on all of our remaining merchandise.”Stores that are closing will be offering discounts up to 30 per cent on remaining pet food, accessories and supplies.
