UPDATE: Police Searching Water After Empty Boat Found On Georgian Bay

Seadoo Found Adrift Near Beausoleil Island

Friday –  The search for a missing boater near Beausoleil Island came to an end this morning with the discovery of the body believed to be the missing mississauga man. OPP say a boat was found adrift on Georgian Bay on August 22nd, and a thorough search of the area began. The body believed to be the 56-year-old boater was found just before 9:00 this morning. 

Wednesday – OPP confirm the missing man is 56 years of age, from Mississauga. he has yet to be found.

Tuesday – Rescue workers are searching the waters off Beausoleil Island after an empty boat was found adrift on Georgian Bay. The OPP say a recently used Seadoo Speedster was found floating off the southern tip of Beausoleil Island around 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Police Marine and Diving teams began the search for the Seadoo’s operator, continuing until night fell, resuming again this morning. Shoreline property owners on Beausoleil Island, Roberts Island, and Present Island are asked to search their shoreline and report anything pertinent to police at 1-800-310-1122.
