Recently Discovered Star Made Almost Entirely Of Oxygen

Outer Atmosphere The Most Oxygen-Rich in Known Universe

A newly discovered star is said to be unlike any other ever found. The outermost layer of this sun, according to the team of Brazilian astronomers that discovered it, is made of about 99.9 per cent pure oxygen. In fact, it’s the most oxygen rich atmosphere in the known universe, way more than Earth’s meager 21 per cent. Almost all other white dwarf stars in the sky are made of lighter elements like hydrogen and helium. You can’t breathe the oxygen of this star, some 1,200-light years away, the gravity would crush you first.
