Recycling Does Matter!

One Person Can Make A Difference.

A second major award has been handed to a school in Simcoe County. Foley Catholic School in Brechin was recognized for it’s contributions to the Learning and Living Green Program. The program educates students about proper waste disposal and encourages the use of the County’s green bin program. The school was able to divert almost 15 kilograms of organics per student during the last school year. That was highest amount of any other participating school.  Since the program was introduced in 2010, approximately 25-hundred tonnes of organics have been collected from participating schools. This past January, the school was also handed the Ministers Award for Environmental Excellence.
