Sarah Silverman is “lucky to be alive” after contracting a bacterial infection which left her hospitalized last week.
The comedian was admitted to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following a visit to the doctor for what she thought was just a sore throat. She was diagnosed with Epiglottitis, a potentially life-threatening condition in which the epiglottis becomes inflamed and blocks air to the lungs.
On Wednesday, Sarah took to Facebook to reveal why she’s been missing in action, and shared her gratitude for the doctors and loved ones who helped her during the frightening health scare.
