Shelburne Stores Victim Of Funny Money

Pair Of Suspects Sought After Counterfeit Currency Used

Nottawasaga OPP need help pointing the finger at some women they say were spending some counterfeit coin in the Shelburne area. Police got the call from some local businesses in mid January, claiming to have received some phony American $50’s as payment. Investigation lead police to believe the same two women spent the fake currency at at least four Shelburne stores and a few spots in the Rosemont area. They were able to obtain a surveillance image of one of the pair, but describe both suspects as:

Suspect 1:

  • Female
  • white
  • 18 to 30 years old
  • medium build
  • dark long hair
  • high beige or light brown boots
  • black coat with fur collar with a deep “V” in the front
  • beige or light brown wallet
  • black pants
  • burgundy or red sweater
  • heavy gold necklass.

Suspect 2:

  • Female
  • white
  • 18-30 years old
  • heavier build
  • black boots and pants
  • dark parka type coat with fur around collar
  • wearing sunglasses while inside the stores.
