UPDATE with arrest: South End Barrie Music Store Broken Into

Smashed Entrance A Sour Note For Police

Friday November 27 – Barrie Police have arrested a 21 year old Barrie man in a Thursday morning break-in at Music pro on Mapleview Drive. Police say a window was broken at 3:30am, sounding the security alarm. The same man is believed to have returned to the store two hours later, gathering equipment from the store and putting into a vehicle. An employee who was waiting for a glass repairman confronted the suspect, who fled after an altercation between the two. Police say the accused was involved in two fail to remain collisions as he drove away. Witnesses were able to take down licence number which led police to the man’s residence. Charges include: take motor vehicle without consent, assault and two counts of break and enter and fail to remain.

 

Thursday November 26 – Here’s a break in that struck a chord.  Barrie Police say someone broke into the Music Pro on Mapleview, but no one is sure yet if anything was taken. They’re saying someone smashed in the store window just before 3:30 this morning, triggering the alarm. Police say they’re working on getting suspect images uploaded off store security cameras, but describe their perp as a heavyset six-foot-tall man with a brown coat and a black hoodie.
