South Simcoe Theatre’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

TALENTED CAST BRINGS OLD TOWN HALL TO LIFE

Wow! That’s pretty well all that’s left to be said after taking in “50: Our Golden Celebration” presented by South Simcoe Theatre at the Old Town Hall in Cookstown,

Director Scott Hurst, and musical director Renee Cingolani, and the talented SST cast take you on a 50 year romp through some of the best musical productions the group has presented to local patrons over the past half century.

The old historic Town Hall auditorium comes to life, filled with the big, full vocals and harmonies of 21 seasoned cast members backed by a 3 piece orchestra that doesn’t miss a beat. So many of the selections are big production, show-stopper numbers featuring bright, colourful costumes that represent some of the various shows the numbers were selected from. There are also moving solos of some of the biggest and most memorable anthems. Singing, dancing all the way through, there’s even a tap dance segment! The productions is such, it’s easy to forget you’re not in Toronto or New York while taking in the Cookstown show.
