Suspect Sought In Attempted Fraud At the Source

Tried to buy iPhone

Barrie Police hoping the public can help identify a suspect in an alleged attempted fraud this week at the Source on Mapleview Drive. A clerk told police a man was in the store Tuesday afternoon wanting to buy an iPhone6S. He showed a Canadian Permanent Residence photo and a Social Insurance card as identification. The clerk had doubts about the SIN card and asked for another piece of ID, at which time the man fled the store empty-handed. He’s described as:

  • male, black                                                                                            thesourcefraud
  • 6’0” to 6’2”
  • 180 lbs
  • black short dreadlocks or twists in his hair
  • spoke with a Caribbean accent

Wearing:

  • white T-shirt
  • long light blue jean shorts
  • white high top basketball shoes
  • black shoulder bag
