The Grammy’s Dedicate The Show To Kobe Bryant!
It was a very emotional night!
The show opened with an emotional dedication to Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter accident outside LA earlier in the day.
Lizzo opened the show by saying “ Tonight is for Kobe,” before performing her songs “Cuz I Love You” and “Truth Hurts.”
Host Alicia Keys came out with some carefully picked words!
“We are literally standing here heartbroken in the house that Kobe Bryant built.” Also adding, “We never imagined in a million years we’d have to start the show like this.” Before she was joined on stage by Boyz II Men who performed “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye…”
Kobe Jersey’s were seen on stage during a few performances and words of condolences to the Bryant family were expressed by artists and guests throughout the evening…
Some highlights:
Lizzo won three out of her eight nominations, including best urban contemporary album for “Cuz I Love You,” best pop solo performance for “Truth Hurts.”
Billie Eilish took the night winning all four top awards for album, song, record of the year and best new artist.
