Happy Birthday to Queen Elizabeth who is celebrating her 90th today. She ascended to the throne in 1952, and last September surpassed Queen Victoria as the longest-serving monarch (Victoria held the throne for 63 years and 216 days). She has lived through some extraordinary times – World War II, the moon landing, the end of the Cold War and the advent of peace in Northern Ireland. Some things you maybe didn’t know about Queen Elizabeth:
- she doesn’t have a passport or a drivers licence
- doesn’t wear jeans
- doesn’t vote
- never goes on tour without Prince Philip
- she does not wear a seat belt
