The World Pays Tribute To Prince

Autopsy expected today

Sports stadiums across North America were lit up in purple last night, thousands filled the street outside the Minneapolis nightclub where Prince filmed Purple Rain and filmaker Spike Lee threw an impromptu street party in honour of the singer, who died yesterday at age 57. He had been ill for several weeks, reportedly with the flu. Prince’s sister thanked fans who showed up at his suburban Minneapolis compound to mourn his death. Tyka Nelson emerged from the compound early Thursday evening to look at bouquets, balloons and signs left by fans of her brother, then approached the crowd of nearly 200. An autopsy will be conducted today to determine a cause of death.
