Traffic was affected through the morning rush, after a tractor trailer fire near Schomberg first thing this morning. South Simcoe Police say a fire started in the cab of the truck just after midnight, the driver pulled over and jumped out. He’s been taken to hospital for a checkup, no injuries reported. His big rig on the other hand, it’s a goner. Highway 27 was completely closed from Highway 9 to the 2nd Line of Bradford for a bulk of the morning. They only had northbound highway 27 blocked north of highway 9 through the lunch hour, as workers shift the load of parts from the burnt trailer to a new one. Police say no charges are expected.
